Lena Melkonian is the founder and principal attorney at Lena Law, APC in Pasadena, California bringing over 40 years’ experience focused on personal injury cases. At a very young age, Lena moved with her parents to Michigan then to Los Angeles, California. She attended private Armenian school from elementary until graduating high school ranking top of her class. While attending Glendale Community College, she began working as a receptionist for a law firm in Century City at age 18. After getting married, and having a child, she continued her education taking paralegal courses at Mission College. For the next 30 years, Lena worked at the same firm gaining a collection of experience and progressively promoted to a legal secretary, then bookkeeper, to office manager, and finally a litigation paralegal. She did not stop there. Her dream was to become an attorney. In her mid-40’s, while working as a full-time paralegal, Lena attended evening courses 4 nights per week at Glendale University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree graduating in the top of her class with High Honors, in 2014. That same year, Lena passed the California State Bar examination and took her oath as a practicing attorney.

Her love of the law, and eagerness to help clients, combined with her wealth of experience in working in all positions and departments of a law office, encouraged Lena to establish her own law firm in 2015. Lena’s tenacity and drive is a testament to her fusion of passion, dedication and unwavering devotion to her clients. Her philosophy is rooted in advocating for fairness and upholding the rights and dignity of all individuals.

Over the years in Lena’s journey in the legal field, she has gained the respect of her clients, peers, co-workers, insurance adjusters and other attorneys (including opposing counsel) for her professionalism, integrity, compassion, ethics, transparency, tenacity, advocacy skills and firm commitment to justice.

Lena, always eager to learn more to better serve and advocate for her clients, regularly attends seminars, and continuing education courses. In 2024, she attended and graduated CAALA’s Plaintiff Trial Academy.

Throughout her career, Lena has participated in pro-bono workshops and community events. She always encourages people to go to school no matter what age and turn their life’s dreams into realities. Her motto is “It Is Never Too Late.”
