Who is Lena Melkonian?

I am your accident and personal injury attorney. Known to many as Lena Law. Some people think Law is my last name.  Happily married to my husband George for over 32 years, we have one adult son Michael. My family is very supportive of me and understands that I have to work long hours even after I get home. My parents, sister and niece live close by and we enjoy spending time together. My sister Lisa works in the same office suite as myself, so we are lucky to see each other everyday. People say we look alike.

Since I was 18 years old, I worked in the personal injury field – that is over 36 years. I have held every job title in a law office –receptionist, legal secretary, office manager, bookkeeper, paralegal and of course an attorney. I am passionate about my job and love what I do. I like the saying that ‘it is not a job if you love what you do.’ The reason I love my work is because of my clients. I am blessed to have wonderful and appreciative clients.

What sets me aside from other accident attorneys is that I work on my client’s cases personally. I am not a PI mill. That means my law office is not taking in hundreds of cases a month and having legal staff (non-attorneys) work on the cases. From the first meeting to the time of settlement, I am the one working on your case. My office staff, of course, helps and supports me, but my clients are my top priority and have the benefit of speaking with me personally. Those of you reading this that are or have been a client, know this to be true.

The majority of my business is based on client referrals. That means a lot to me because it proves my clients are happy with my services and refer their family, friends and co-workers. The focus of my law practice is accident and personal injury cases. I also do transactional work (Contracts), Civil Litigation, Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts) and handle general legal matters.

On the personal side, I enjoy spending time with good friends – just talking in a relaxed atmosphere, entertaining at home, eating good food, sometimes cooking, watching a good TV show, going out to the movies, reading fiction, fresh flowers (not necessarily roses), ice cream, shopping, and of course traveling. Who can guess my favorite destination? I help local charitable organizations and churches, and for years have financially sponsored two families in Armenia which is very fulfilling to me.

My motto: “It is never too late.” This is representative of anything. Don’t make excuses. Make a decision, put your mind to it, and just do it. Be committed to your goal, and you will succeed. I am always ready to talk to and encourage anyone who wants to pursue their education or take on a new project or commitment.

I invite you to call, email or set up a meeting if you would like to get to know me better.

What is the APC in Lena Law, APC?

Clients often ask me “what does APC mean?” Just in case you are wondering….APC are the initials for “A Professional Corporation”. Some law firms that are corporations use PC which stands for a Professional Corporation. Others use APLC – A Professional Law Corporation. Some use the traditional INC (Incorporated). I prefer APC- so – my law corporation is called Lena Law, APC.
